| | Winter is coming | |
This picture was taken on November 26/2007. The ice is just starting to form along the shore. Our lake is a deep, cold lake that takes a long time to freeze. It requires cold temperatures and usually is not safe to travel on until after Christmas. Just wanted to share with you how beautiful it looks at this time of year.
 | | Blueberries | |
Picking blueberries is part of camping and summer. Some years we don't have any because of heat or dryness. This year there were plenty to add to pancakes for the traditional camping breakfast.

 | | Smallmouth Bass | |
It is just as much fun to swim with the bass as to catch them. These bass had their picture taken in the creek at the end of the beach, a favourite spot for fishing and snorkeling.

 | | Water Lillies | |
These water lily pictures were taken underwater in the creek at the end of our beach. They are very neat to see as they reach for the sun and the surface.

 | | Summer Moon | |
All through the summer our guests have the opportunity to take great shots of the moon as it works it's way across the horizon from the south in early summer to the east by late summer.

There is an abundance of varieties of moss to be found on hikes around our area. This variety is very lush and soft.

 | | Happy Red Squirrel | |
The wildlife at camp become very tame and accustomed to people during the summer. It could have something to do with all the seeds and peanuts that are given to them by our guests.

Our 13 year old grandson took the giant leap from atop the red pine stump at the very highest point on our cliffs. It is aproxamately 60 feet from the top plus an extra 5 feet for the stump. Brave guy!!

 | | The Trappers Cabin | |
The Trappers Cabin had a "face lift" in March 2006. We jacked it up, put in a new floor and added 4 rows of logs. No more hitting your head on the rafters!
 | | Hummingbirds | |
We have many Ruby Throated Hummingbirds visit us in the summer and also granddaughters!
 | | A classic car | |
This classic car, a 72 Oldsmobile is the pride and joy of Lyn, the co-owner of Highwind. It is an American made car with just 19,500 original miles. The paint is original too and as you can see the car is in mint condition. It presently lives in the camp picnic shelter, but for the right price, Lyn would be willing to sell it. If you are interested, give him a call at Highwind.

Right across the bay from our camp is this lovely set of cliffs that are a great challenge for those brave enough to do cliff jumping.
 | | Highwind Lake Camp | |
There are many beautiful spots along the roads to stop and have a picnic and take a break from exploring all the old logging roads that run near our camp.
 | | Highwind Lake Camp | |
For those fit enough to climb to the top of the big hill at Highwind, the view is a wonderful reward. All of Highwind is spread out before you and it is a tranquil spot that many like to sit and meditate and enjoy God's gift of creation.

The beach at Highwind is a great place for friends to meet and cool off on a hot day!

This beautiful flower is a Stemless Lady's slipper. It is a member of the orchard family and is rare, so do not pick it. It can be found at Highwind and makes for a great photo opportunity. The week of June 2nd/2003, on a walk around Highwind, 14 Lady's Slippers were found in full bloom. There was one lovely cluster of 5 plants in full bloom. Other wildflowers that were blooming this same week at Highwind include: Starfloweres, Wild Lily of the Valley, Goldthread, Wood Strawberries, Clintonia, Bunchberries, Pincherry Trees and Blueberries
 | | Highwind Lake Camp | |
There are miles and miles of abandoned logging roads for great days of exploring on your quads. Bring your family along and have a picnic at the many other lakes nearby!

Our children's playground is located both near our cabins and our campground. It is a favourite spot to play and explore but not too far away for parents to keep an eye on their little ones.

In the clear waters of Highwind, this little guy is pretending he is a frog. Our beach is very safe for small children with a very gradual drop off.

Another beautiful sunrise picture taken from in front of Cabin 2. Our little island is close enough for a short canoe ride and perfect to explore and snorkel around the neat rock reefs.
